Mexican Sootywing
Pholisora mejicanus

Observation date: June 06, 2022
Submitted by: DeepSkyKelly
Specimen type: Photograph
Observation notes: I'm going to go with Mexican on this one because I just *barely* got a partial shot of the underwing, and to me it looks like the veins are very black. I can't see if there's a bluish sheen. Is it enough to call?
Status: Resident

Coordinator notes: yes. it is enough. on common sootywing, the veins do not stand out at all. nice get! too bad one usually has to be prostrate to get a ventral shot showing the iridescence
