Observation notes: Individual small skipper taking nutrients and sunning on a moist rock near a small pool of water near Pine Tree Trail. The site is above the Aguirre Springs Campground in the Organ mountains (east-facing slope). This afternoon was under full sun, warm, and with wind gusting to 40-50 mph. the site is sheltered somewhat by location and surrounding rock faces and tall shrub and tree growth. The individual briefly visited a Mimulus sp. flower.
