Rocky Mountain Duskywing
Erynnis telemachus

Observation date: May 05, 2022
Submitted by: Marta Reece
Specimen type: Photograph
Observation notes: Near Rockhouse Spring, which is permanently running, within a thin oak woodland of mixed live and Gambel oaks with some pines. Pleasant weather.
Status: Resident
Verified by: stevecary
Verified date: May 08, 2022
Coordinator notes: Marta, if I previously said this was Meridian, I've changed my mind, The enlarged abdomen indicates this is a female and so we have to allow for some variation from the standard Rocky Mountain Duskywing "look." The heavily grayed FW, the two pale dots visible on the VHW apex, and its occurrence at Rockhouse Spg. tell me it is Rocky Mountain.
Checklist region(s): United States, New Mexico, Doña Ana County
