Clouded Sulphur
Colias philodice

Observation date: April 30, 2022
Submitted by: Rayw432
Specimen type: Photograph
Observation notes: Butterfly seen flitting among dandelions. Weather was mostly sunny at the time with a temperature in the 60s to low 70s.
Status: Resident
Verified by: jmgesell
Verified date: June 25, 2022
Coordinator notes: Nearly impossible to tell apart from C. eurytheme (Orange Sulphur) from this angle, and it's extremely difficult to get a dorsal wing view. Sometimes the "warmer," more "golden" ventral appearance can favor C. eurytheme (as opposed to a more lighter "lemon" color), but I don't see any hint of orange showing through the ventral FW, so I can go with C. philodice. -jmgesell
