Observation notes: Male. I was very surprised to find this species near the parking lot at work. I have been looking at butterflies in Sonoma County for over 30 years and this is the first time I have seen this species. It stuck around long enough for a few phone photos then flew and I didn't see it land again. Weather was cool with intermittent sun.
