Observation notes: These butterflies arrived in small numbers during mid-August 2021 and were observed near the trailhead of Soledad Canyon taking nutrients from moist soil and rocks following monsoon rainstorms and slope seepage. Two individuals were observed (August 23rd) nectaring from brown fluffroot/Wright's acourtia flowers growing from a large arroyo bank adjacent to the seeps. The mornings were humid, warm, breezy, and there was full sunshine.
