Observation notes: A few of these butterflies nectared from the large stand (~0.5 acres) of purple-flowered asters growing on the Rio Grande floodplain during late September and early October. The collection days/times were sunny and warm with a light wind.

Coordinator notes: Funereal is about the only duskywing you're likely to see along the Rio. elongated forewings bearing a tan patch with a dark diagonal line through it.
