Specimen type: Photograph
Observation notes: Skippers are nectaring from purple aster flowers that bloomed profusely between August-October in the floodplain of the Rio Grande. The day was sunny, breezy, and warm. Sites occurred just off the Rio Grande Trail between the levee and trail (the 1st along a small irrigation ditch and the 2nd near the parking area). The final image (5971 (2)) is of two skippers nectaring and displaying pre-mating behavior.
