Observation notes: Metalmarks nectaring from honey mesquite shrubs (5 images) and one image of a metalmark ovipositing on an Eriogonum sp. stem (wild buckwheat ID could not be made to species as no herbaceous growth was present following months of drought and early data collection date). Day was sunny, warm, and breezy to windy.

Coordinator notes: many thanks, Jim, for consolidating these. It looks like multiple individuals,mae and female. 5900 ft elevation. thanks for the deets on the oviposition site, I totally get the drought thing. and the mesquite, too.
