Observation notes: I saw two of these little caterpillars on a young tree along the trail. They both stayed on the same leaf the whole time I was watching and didn't move at all. I think this isn't a tiger swallowtail because of the habitat, a desert foothill canyon, and because I have only, as far as I know, seen two tailed in the foothills.
