Common Checkered-Skipper
Burnsius communis

Observation date: October 16, 2021
Submitted by: Cactuswren1976
Specimen type: Photograph
Observation notes: Somewhat worn female observed flying and alighting on horse dung. It may well have been taking up minerals/moisture from the dung, but I was not able to substantiate this. I have not previously seen this behavior from this species.

Coordinator notes: Rene, I'm sure you recall that we're calling this Common C-S as a way to approve the sighting even though we don't know for sure it's Common vs White C-S.
