Observation notes: The insect was noted crawling on some mulch under some playground equipment in an apartment complex. My six year old son kept attempting to touch it, the caterpillar wiggled away to avoid his path. The weather was hot and humid with partly cloudy skies. There weren’t any host plants within a 10 ft radius.
