Coordinator notes: This is a Ruddy Copper female...a rather dark one which is not unusual in the mountains at higher altitude. Most coppers are brownish (the only one that is not is the Blue Copper - larger than many blues and faster flying) and many female blues are brownish but female blues generally do not have spots rows on the uppersides of the wings like coppers (including males), other than a mark at the end of the wing cell on the wing discs (usually central on the hindwing, toward the wing edge forward and about mid-wing). Hope that helps with blues vs. coppers. Mike
