Observation notes: Marys Peak in southern Coast Range of Oregon. Patrolling and defending a small area of gravel, chasing off much larger butterflies. Nectaring on Creeping Dogbane. Multiple butterfly species present. Dry, rocky, sunny, south-facing slope/rock outcrop surrounded by meadow. Blooming nearby, Yarrow and Pearly Everlasting. Breezy. Butterflies hilltopping. Warm sunny day, breezy.

Coordinator notes: This may be persius but there is also an undescribed Erynnis tristis in northern California that may reach your area. You did not name the peak and am not familiar with that area. Others who know the area may be able to ID this-Ken Davenport Sine Warren listed tristis as having no records in Oregon (2005), I will go ahead and list this as a persius.-Ken Davenport
