Coordinator notes: This is the Woodland Skipper (not the Sachem). These have colonized places in the Denver area from corridors leading out onto the plains from the foothills...in this case...nearby Bear Creek not far from where your sighting was made. Had these in my Centennial backyard near Broadway and Arapahoe Road. Looks like the individual is taking nectar on fireweed rather not butterfly bush. Mike
