Observation notes: Found on the tall brush bordering the Rio Grande which consists mostly of willows, with some salt cedar and mesquite. Only one individual was observed. The weather was clear and pleasant, following heavy rains.

Coordinator notes: Right you are, Marta. this is the 'Desert' Viceroy, a riparian specialist in the Southwest because its larvae eat willows only. and we know where the willows grow. these are beautiful images. thanks for submitting!
