Observation notes: Little used gravel road through spruce and fir (Abies) forest near the base of Mount Sandberg. Some mature forest and lots of clearcuts of various ages. Polygonias, particularly P. gracilis most obvious butterflies here - basking and sipping around the edges of road puddles. Often when disturbed they fly up to low roadside vegetation.
