Observation notes: Photographed in high mountain meadow, approx. 11,400 ft, on East Beckwith Mountain, Gunnison National Forest. This little butterfly climbed easily onto my fingers.

Coordinator notes: Hi Tim...yes, the Arctic Fritillary. Still some controversy about the proper name...Boloria chariclea or titantia for North America. I presume you did not find Gillette's Checkerspot over by Gothic or you would have posted possibly - if you got the chance to look around over there? Mike
