Observation notes: Reared from Ostrya virginiana. Larva made a lower surface tentiform blotch mine at the leaf margin that was preceded by a somewhat obliterated linear portion (last photo). Frass was clumped together near the center of the mine and was then used to cover the pupa in an ovoid ball. The mine was found on 7/15, and the adult emerged this morning 7/27.
