Observation notes: Butterfly was sighted while sitting on an outdoor patio in Studio City, CA. Temp / 75F degrees; humidity 62%; mildly cloudy morning. Butterly lighted for a time on the leaf of a Rose tree. Could not see if it was laying eggs, as too high up. I have been seeing this type of butterfly quite frequently here lately. It sat for a while with wings together, then displayed them open when I took the photo.
