Central Dotted-Blue
Euphilotes centralis

Observation date: July 23, 2021
Submitted by: DeepSkyKelly
Specimen type: Photograph
Observation notes: Mating pair. From pictures I've looked at, this most closely resembles the Ancilla Dotted Blue, but I know that is out of range. Acmon is out because these have no metallic spots on orange, and there is too much separation between the orange spots and the black spots on the ends of the wings. Melissa is out because from what I can see of the forewing, there is no orange between black spots edging the wings. The spots don't look square enough to me to be a Square-spotted...so in short...I'm kind of stumped.
