Observation notes: A Black Witch moth sighted in Manistee County, Manistee, Michigan in Filer township on Cherry Road approximately 1/4 mile south of Red Apple Road intersection on a nice sunny day following a large rain and thunderstorm with strong winds the night before. The moth was located on a neighbor’s shed above the shed door. Slightly tattered wings and both antenna appear broken off. The moth moved only slightly ( a few inches) on the shed wall all day. Remained there throughout the day and left shortly after dark. Specimen not collected.
