Observation notes: Cloudy and hazy from smoke from distant wildfires. Temp. around 70 degrees F. One seen nectaring on buckwheat then on the ground a few feet away. It did not offer a ventral shot , but I captured a blurry image as it flew from the buckwheat.

Coordinator notes: this is too orange for Mormon, also too far east. it is the Front Range race of Sonoran Metalmark. that buckwheat (Eriogonum jamesii v. jamesii) is its host there. a good get!
