Tawny Emperor
Asterocampa clyton

Observation date: June 20, 2021
Submitted by: PCD321
Specimen type: Photograph
Observation notes: The butterfly "swooped" at my hat and banged into my lavender cap three times so I took it off. Tawny seemed very interested in the green patch of (very dry) acrylic paint, and also the table. I would say the butterfly stayed around for about 45 minutes, at least. I am not sure what time it arrived, as I had gone into the house for a bit. Sunny, warm weather. Slight breeze.
