Specimen type: Photograph
Observation notes: Cooler afternoon, near a trail and a creek, lots of other butterflies present especially on the gravel path.
Status: Resident
Verified by: mikefisher
Verified date: July 24, 2021
Coordinator notes: Tent caterpillars feed communally on a variety of shrubs in noticeable webs that weave several stems together, some years these are very common and noticeable, other years not so much. This one is probably ready to cocoon up. The moth is not as impressive as the caterpillar. Mike
