Observation notes: I found quite a few of these Phyciodes nectaring on woolly sunflower along a logging road. The area is a steep canyon with a stream about 200' below. I went back the next day and found them along a 1/2 mile stretch of road starting at 4,770' going up to about 5,300'. These crescents are larger than the field and mylitta I see and similar to orseis I've seen at Ash Creek. I'll add a habitat shot and a photo of the creek 200' below. I'll also submit 2 more individuals that were photographed at the same location.
