Observation notes: Sunny 68 degrees F, slight breeze. Butterfly observed on Cup Plant, Silphium perfoliatum, in native plant garden. Flew short distance to rock bed with White Pine Needles where image taken. Single individual noted only. Plants in area include Leadplant, Vervain ssp., Cirsium discolor cotyledons, Prairie Sage, Sorbus ssp., and additional prairie grasses.
