Oidaematophorus eupatorii

Observation date: June 11, 2021
Submitted by: Sophia06_1983
Specimen type: Photograph
Observation notes: Warm weather, high 70’s These cats were found devouring my Joe pie weed plant. The plant is currently in a pot under a maple tree infested with another caterpillar. The tree has little red 3D dots on it from it’s infestation. No other plant under the tree seems to be bothered by this caterpillar.

Coordinator notes: Not 100% certain about this, but this plume moth instar is a known pest of Joe Pye weed and there are some compelling photos on the internet. JRains
