Specimen type: Photograph
Observation notes: We've had an explosion of these in the area for the past week. I live in a Ponderosa Pine forest which is very spacious--also with some oak. The moths like to hide in fabric or under things--there was a tidal wave of them when I picked up a duffel back on my front porch. When we returned one night we saw hundreds (at least) drinking from wet pavement after our water was delivered that afternoon/evening. Looks like they have color variation but the patterns are the same.
