Observation notes: Flying low in the brambles between the edge of the woods and the edge of a marsh, stopping to nectar occasionally on blackberry. It was difficult to tell how many individuals there were since many orange butterflies were flying here, including Hobomok skipper, Peck's skipper, American copper, and tons of crescents. I was able to photograph three individuals, all shown here. I photographed the first two around 1:30 pm, and the third when I returned to the spot two hours later.
