Observation notes: this butter fly was very friendly, landing on us several times, maybe with all the snow on the ground it was trying to warm up ? our elevation was about 10,300 feet, cool day, mostly cloudy slight breeze but no rain. no green vegetation, still a lot of snow pack. the encounter lasted about 45 min, the butterfly would land on us, fly away, come back and land on us. eventually it landed about 15 feet up in a spruce pine tree, stay there for quite a while, so we moved on.

Coordinator notes: Your ID is correct...neat experience and probably behaved in that manner because it was early in the year. Mike
