Coordinator notes: I suspect acmon because of the dark orange hindwing spotting. Blue overscaling of females happen in the early spring brood. Plebejus monticola now has species status as I proposed in my recent Updated Southern California butterfly book published by Colorado State University, available for free download. Its status was genomically confirmed by Nick Grishin and others, it is not a Lupine Blue. It and acmon are difficult to ID in that area, usually easy when you get north to Kern County, the southern Sierra and the Coast Ranges northward-Ken Davenport
