Observation notes: The butterfly was seen in Box Canyon, 8 miles west of Socorro, New Mexico, off of US highway 60. It is a rocky canyon. It was interacting with Common Sootywing skippers.

Coordinator notes: Rebecca, this is great! not counting an old, poorly labeled specimen from Albuquerque in the American Museum of Natural History (no date, no collector), this is the northernmost sighting of ceos and the first from Socorro County. Awesome!
