Observation notes: Approximately 12 (only 2 females) were observed nectaring on a flowering Autumn Olive. Pogue Creek Natural Area is very well managed. The only Autumn Olive (invasive species) plant here is beneficial to these first brood butterflies. Other species observed but not photographed were: Black Swallowtail, Pipevine Swallowtail, Zebra Swallowtail and Gulf Fritillary.
