Coordinator notes: Subspecies alma. Despite the severe drought, I found this checkerspot in the Western Mojave Desert two days ago near Lone Pine, the first time I've seen it in the Western Mojave Desert in 28 years! You are doing well in what is a complete loss in many reports I am getting in the Mojave-Ken Davenport
