Observation notes: 2-3 males jockeying for perch in lee of Fallugia paradoxa branch ~ 2' above stream bed; perch site is in a part of Fillmore Cyn with good stand of Ungnadia speciosa, ~20 plants thru ~200 linear feet of drainage, some on bottom, some on sides; those in lowest, warmest sites are well along in bloom; those in higher, cooler sites are still in bud. other plants/shrubs present include Celtis, Garrya, Juniperus. observations at 2-2:30 pm; sunny, warm, breezy; need to return in 1-2 weeks to seek females; Ungnadia is larval host; lots of bees on buckeye.
