Date notes: This was the first day that i noticed it. It was already about an inch long when i first saw it, so it could be a few days older then the day i stated.

Observation notes: The caterpilar has taken residence on a pot of snapdragons. i have a few pots of snapdragons on my patio outside. I've noticed that it only eats the flower buds and seed pods of the plant, not the leaves.
The weather is also very warm, late 80° to 90° degree weather most days. Lots of sun. I keep a sheet over the snapdragon plant to keep it protected from the sun, and the caterpillar also benefits.
