Observation notes: This green Hairstreak was seen battling with a Gray Hairstreak, both hilltopping on the southern peak of the "Volcano" in Calavera Preserve. Same location as was seen last year at this time. The air was warm and near still. Many other species of butterfly also seen in the immediate area, including Anise Swallowtail and Painted Lady.
