Coordinator notes: Tim, one reason why this is not a Hesperia is because there are no lighter contrasting macular band spots showing on the hindwing....the color is uniform. Western Colorado Hesperia have these definite spot bands on the hindwings. Of course, if you can get photos of the uns you can see these plainly on Hesperia while they are expanded and less contrasting on the Woodland Skipper. I think I identified one Hesperia colorado for you from over in Gunnison County some weeks ago you had with a July or August date. Will take with you later on about getting together for a hike or two as spring gets closer. Take care, Mike
