Mormon Metalmark
Apodemia mormo

Observation date: August 11, 2020
Submitted by: Christian.Nunes
Specimen type: Photograph
Observation notes: At least two directly associated with Eriogonum corymbosum var. velutinum. The only flowering plant in the immediate area, although I did find a patch of Eriogonum effusum within about a quarter mile. A bit worn.
Status: Resident
Verified by: stevecary
Verified date: October 27, 2020
Coordinator notes: Christian, thanks for getting this into the system. This is mormo mormo as far as I am aware. It is the only metalmark in the lowland mesa country of NW NM. Apodemia mejicanus has some orange on the DHW, whereas mormo mormo does not.
