Observation notes: we were hiking on the trail in the Roosevelt Grove of Old Growth Cedars in N Idaho - these butterflies were going down the trail ahead of us - there were a good many. We also saw them while strolling near Huff Lake (a fen just down the road from the above), where one landed on my gloved hand while I was holding the camera (guess it was enjoying the salt on my glove) and then my shirt cuff. Weather was around mid 60's, no wind, sunny but a bit smoky from the wildfires When one would close up, it virtually "disappeared" - looked like a dried up brown leaf. Note location on map is my best guess - NF roads are a bit tricky (but info above re location is accurate)
