Clouded Sulphur
Colias philodice

Observation date: July 28, 2020
Submitted by: p_stritch
Specimen type: Photograph
Observation notes: This butterfly behaved just like the Clouded and Orange Sulphurs, which are common here. I've never seen a Pink-edged Sulphur here, & they're supposed to be found only at higher elevations, but this one lacks the second central spot & the postmedian spots of the Clouded & Orange. Is it possible?
Status: Resident

Coordinator notes: Clouded Sulphurs often have only a single spot on the underside of the HW. Females of this species have a much wider dark, dorsal forewing apex, which is visible through the wing.
