Observation notes: Temp in hi 70s F. Moth resting in the sunlight on the exterior of a window. Wing tip to wing tip ~2.5 cm across. The photo accurately shows its position relative to the vertical. The sunshine on its posterior may be affecting the surface coloration and texture somewhat. Clearly the back edges of the wings are highlighted. It somewhat resembles some of the Litter Moths in my Peterson guide, but not close enough to have confidence in that ID.
