Observation notes: These caterpillars have defoliated at least one Asclepias syriaca. Nearby plants include Ratibida pinnata, Hydrangea macrophylla, Physocarpus opulifolius and lots of Asclepias syriaca.
There is more brown coloration making it a bit different than the milkweed tussock moth caterpillar's orange and black
