Our summer fundraiser has arrived, and we need your help!
We depend on donations to keep Butterflies and Moths of North America freely available. If everyone who uses this resource makes a donation, we could cover our ongoing costs, develop new features, upgrade the system, and maybe even remove those pesky ads. Please make a one-time or recurring donation to show your support for this valuable source of information. Thank you!
Observation notes: In a mountain meadow at 9000 feet altitude about 6 miles from Guffey CO in Park County. Skies partly sunny and temperature was in the 70s. Feeding on unknown plant (upperside shot) and resting on the ground (bottom side shot).

Coordinator notes: I think I could have identified this from just the picture of the upper side but the underside certainly confirms it as the Coronis Fritillary. Always good to have the undersides. Only the upperside make the ID tougher sometimes but I can recognize the Colorado species from only that aspect confidently as they do have differences. Mike
