Observation notes: Observed basking on a lichen-encrusted rock in open Ponderosa Pine woodland along the Borrego Trail (#150) near North Fork Tesuque Creek at approx. 8,500 ft. elev.

Coordinator notes: Artic Frits are pretty small compared to most 'greater' fritillaries like Northwestern. I can't see the size of this guy and so maybe it was small enough to be an Arctic Frit, but all the markings are for Northwestern: blue eyes plus swollen black veins in the forewing.
