Observation notes: I noticed this moth early on a hot summer morning. It was resting, but trying to say on the shaded part of my balcony, near a planter. It had moved a few inches over the course of a couple of hours, but I never saw it move. I live on the Lake Michigan lakefront, which is a migration highway for many winged species. It was a hot, humid, sunny morning.
