Coordinator notes: Common Checkered Skipper is correct....a female with less white markings. For one thing, it is too large to be the Small Checkered Skipper although it occurs in the area of your sighting. They are tiny....you have to really look to see any of them and they are very local and much less common than Pyr. communis. Mike
