Observation notes: Saw black, white and orange streak rise up from marsh at head of bass pond, settled on large leaf lying flat while slowly air-drying wings, then rose up moving about. First monarch seen this season where others had bred last year and year before. Was approx. 10-12 feet away and very hard to see for first few hours.
