Coordinator notes: This ID is tentative. Andrew Warren's Oregon book was inconclusive about species status of chalcedona and colon, but said west of the Cascades pop[ulations included colon at subspecies status of chalcedona, which would be nominate colon the species. The distribution of the two species is problematic, I tend to accept colon as a species (I have wallacensis from the Umpqua River on the east side of the Cascades)-Ken Davenport
